Do you allow them the opportunity to make good choices while being the presence of potential bad company?

it strikes me that the biggest known drug dealer among kids at my high school was seen by all the teachers as a totally good kid.
anybody can be potential bad company. i’d like my kids to learn to make good assessments of people without my always doing that for them, and to be able to be around a bad example and still do the right thing.
