Big Cloth
Why is layers of cloth better than one big cloth?
It is a biology question. Imm doing an experiment. I am plannign to use sand, cotton and air. Any better suggestions? This would be done by the change in temperature over time. How long should it be? What should my hypothesis and conclution be easy 10 THANKS A LOT
Layers of cloth trap air between them, which acts as an inert barrier (does not conduct heat well) and insulates better, trapping heat more efficiently.
Perhaps you should heat water to a certain temperature, put a “shield” (thick cloth, two layers of thin cloth, three layers of thin cloth) around the container and see how long it takes to reach room temperature in each case.
You could also demonstrate that fleece works better than cotton (more airspace).
